MINOR LEAGUE UPDATE: PLAYOFF EDITION

AAA

The AAA World Series has the New Orleans Zephyrs playing the Albuquerque Komodo Dragons. The first game wasn't even close with New Orleans winning by a score of 19 to 3.

The best game so far in the series has been the 3 to 0 game won by Albuquerque. In that game, Dizzy Hoffman threw 7 shut-out innings for the win. The series is tied up at 2 games a piece.

AA

The AA World Series pits the Tucson Sidewinders against the Jackson Juggernauts. The best game of this series has been the 6 to 2 win by Tucson with Gio Valdez going 1 for 3 with a homerun.

Tucson leads the series 3 games to 1. I wouldn't be surprised to see Justin Bunch back pitching game 5 for Jackson. Justin has won all 4 of his playoff games.

High A

In the High A World Series, the St. Louis Arch Angels lead the Oklahoma City Prairie Dogs 3 game to 1. Other than game 1, St. Louis has manhandled Oklahoma City very easily.

The best game of the series has been the 11 to 3 game won by St. Louis. In that game, Daniel Acosta hit a home run going 4 for 5. He has hit 3 home runs in the post season.

Low A

The St. Louis Arch Angels swept the Montreal Leaf Blowers 4 games to 0 in the Low A World Series. The last game in the series was the best when St. Louis won by a score of 2 to 1. Geoff McCarthy pitched 6 and 2/3 innings of 1 run ball for the win.

Congratulations to St. Louis for winning the Low A World Series.

Rookie

The St. Louis Arch Angels swept the Madison Melons 4 games to 0 to win the Rookie World Series.

In game 4, St. Louis scored early to take the lead and then held on in the 8th inning to win. The score was 4 to 3 in favor of St. Louis.

Alex Tabaka drove in the winning run in the 4th inning by smoking a line drive double to right center field to score Louie Hull from second base.

Congratulations to St. Louis for winning the Rookie World Series.
