Collectively the team is batting at a .286 clip, second in the majors. Tino House has been driving in the runs with a team high 48 RBI and 15 homers. the Associates will need stronger play from ace Cyrus Torres if they want to retake the division lead. He has gone 2-3 in his last six starts.
The Syracuse Sodbusters have gone 13-9 since their last major losing streak. They are currently eight games out of first and remain firmly in third place. Red Smith continues to lead the team in RBI's. The pitching has not been impressive, but they have managed to win games when they needed to. Their next 7 games will be against Durham(28-21) who have outscored the Sodbusters 21-15 in their last series.
The New York Damage Controllers(17-32) have continued their poor play throughout the season. They have loss 7 of their last 10 games.
