Minor League Update

Brian Berkman plays CF for the High A Charlotte Knights. He went 1 for 4 in last nights game against the Washington D.C. Justices. He has plus plus speed and may be seen in the majors in the future.

Rich Baxter is batting .202 on the year for the AAA Charlotte Knights. He went 0 for 3 with a walk and run scored in last nights games against the Cincinnati Firestorm. He does his best impersonation of a stone statue out there playing 3B.

Kris Borders of the AAA Seattle Strikers has very good control of his pitches, has good velocity on his fastball, and has a nice change up along with a plus plus slider. He leaves his fastballs over the heart of the plate which leads to problems. He threw 6 shut-out innings in last nights game against the Montreal Leaf Blowers though.

Melky Gonzalez was sent down to the AAA Seattle Strikers from the majors earlier this season. When asked why he was demoted, Melky said, "I thought I was paid to run not hit."
