Minor League Update

Matty Bennett has thrown 43.2 innings in 37 games this season for the AAA Montreal Leaf Blowers. He has a 1.65 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP. Although he is 26 years old, he definitely would be a nice addition to any bullpen. Montreal has a decent bullpen so we may see Bennett traded to help in another area.

Jerome Green has only pitched in 10 games this season. Fortunately for Montreal, it has only been 10 games. He is allowing a .486 OAV and 1.057 SLG. His ERA is 18.47 for the season. When asked about Jerome, his manager said, "If the young man could hit the way hitters hit him, we would really have something".

John Chen of the Rookie League Madison Masterblastas was drafted in the 24th round two season ago. He is a DH and has been in Rookie ball for two prior seasons. His power and eye are exceptional for the Rookie League. He is hitting .473 in 74 AB on the season. With an OPS of 1.373, he is doing really well.

Jonathan Beard has a CERA of 4.46 in Rookie ball for Madison. It is very good when you consider he really isn't a C at all. His offensive contribution has been very good for the season. He is hitting .377 with a .450 OBP.

Wilkin Guerrero is playing 1B for the AA Cincinnati Firestorm, but will most likely move to DH in the future. He has a .402 OBP and .649 SLG. He was an international free agent signing last season that looks to make it to the majors in the future.
